I don't fully share Mike Masnick's optimistic perspective regarding this technology's democratizing potential. I don't believe separating the technology from its origins or corporate control proves straightforward. But CertGen, my certificate application, now exists. Open source particularly must confront this, because the current expectation of developers sacrificing health and wellbeing without support proves unsustainable. We must address this. I remain uncertain about eventual resolutions, and anyone claiming certainty deceives, demonstrates foolishness, or displays fanaticism.
